The City of Three Rivers and Fabius Township are excited to report progress on two fronts in the joint trail planning efforts.
The trail steering committee has requested a joint meeting of the municipalities to discuss articles of incorporation prepared by Harry Burkholder of the Land Information Access Association (LIAA) and reviewed by Attorney Daniel McGlinn of Kries, Enderle, Hudgins Borsos, PC. The creation of an authority would allow the two jurisdictions to better leverage resources and increase opportunities for grant funds.
Phase I of the pathway planned from Three Rivers Health to Meyer Broadway Park stretches from HealthTrac to the Millard and US131 intersection. Funding efforts are underway for the estimated $60,000 cost. Many thanks to Dr. James Phillips, creator of the Community Health Special Health fund, the Three Rivers Woman’s Club GFWC, and Diane Reece for donations toward the construction of Phase I.
The project has been an ongoing effort with multiple community partners. Donations from the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation, Waste Management, the Fabius Township Citizens’ Coalition provided the match funds for the service grant with LIAA, and Attorney Mr. McGlinn has donated his service to move forward with the creation of the authority.
