The African Pygmy Hedgehog is a hybrid of two wild varieties of hedgehog. Many of them are afraid of humans. The most famous Scidmore hedgehog was “Broomhilda the first” who adored human attention. In the wild hedgehogs eat insects and small amounts of fruits and vegetables. They are short-lived and prone to diseases including cancer and neurological disorders. Our Fluffy is shy but enjoys human interaction, and eats a species specific dry kibble as well as supplemental insects, fruits and vegetables.
