The community is continually changing around us and I would like to take a moment and highlight some of the projects taking place. We have been investing in our own community’s infrastructure. The City celebrated the groundbreaking of Shop at Sheffield on October 13, 2011. The construction marks the beginning of development at the old Essex Wire site after multiple cleanup efforts. The site is now referred to as the Sheffield Site, in memory of the Sheffield Car Company that once occupied the area.
Brownfield Plan #5 for Sheffield Industrial Site (Former Essex Wire Site) The Three Rivers City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of City Hall, 333 W. Michigan Avenue, Three Rivers, Michigan, to receive public comment on a Brownfield Redevelopment Plan for the Sheffield Industrial property site (Parcel No. 75-051-299-044-00 and 75-051-299-044-01). Two lots will be acquired by a limited liability corporation with an anticipated $400,000 investment in late 2011 – early 2012.
