Leaf (and Brush)* Collection: April 1 ‒13, 2026
We understand snow came early and leaves fell late!
Beginning Wednesday, April 1st: citizens of Three Rivers can place leaves in the roadway for a Special 2026 Spring Leaf Collection…
PLEASE NOTE: this one-time Spring cleanup event is for City residents only, and all leaves need be placed in the roadway before 7:00 am Monday April 13th for DPS crew pick up!
* Branches left in the terrace can also be placed for pick up, but NOT in the STREET…
NOTE: DPS can only pick up brush left in the portion of your property within the city right-of-way closest to, but not in, the roadway. For many properties, the terrace is a green strip between the street and sidewalk.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Brush mixed with leaves will not be picked up!
_
If you want brush and leaves out of your way before collection by DPS crews, you can bring your materials to the compost site at 1015 S. Lincoln Ave. Note: the compost site is open extended hours until April 20th!
If you have questions or need further clarification, please call Public Services at 269-273-1845.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Leaves should be placed in the street (not yard) and slightly away from the curb to allow for storm water drainage and ease in leaf collection efforts.
- Leaves placed in the street prior to the specified date may be subject to a fine.
- It should be noted that any brush, sod, bricks, rocks, trash or other foreign materials will damage machinery, hamper our ability to perform our pickup, and may lead to a visit with you by the City’s Code Enforcement Officer.
- Please do not place leaves in terraces (i.e., the areas between the sidewalk line and the curb) as city equipment cannot pick them up.
