Introducing the City of Three Rivers

welcome

I am excited and proud to have this opportunity to introduce the unique City of Three Rivers.  We are located approximately 20 miles south of Kalamazoo.  We were founded by settlers who used the Three Rivers to transport goods.  Because the St. Joseph, Portage and Rocky Rivers converge in our community it made an ideal trading location.

Today, our proximity to highways like US-131, I-94 and I-80/90 are what make us a convenient place for commerce.  In recent years, we have experienced growth in retailing with Home Depot, Meijer, Wal-Mart, Big Lots, Peebles, Dunhams, Menards, and many more.  Developers are telling us that we have become a regional hub for this part of Michigan.

We also have a large industrial base with several international manufacturing companies located within our borders.  We provide a full range of City services but our industries rely on our newly remodeled waste water treatment plant and potable water system.   This system eliminates environmental concerns for our businesses and allows them to focus on their core industry.

As a community, we continually invest in our parks, river walk, library, schools, historic downtown, and city infrastructure.  We strive to continually improve every facet of the community. Three Rivers has much to offer its citizens, neighbors, and visitors.  We invite you to browse these web pages to learn more about our City.  You are also invited to visit Three Rivers in person!

Sincerely,

Joseph A. Bippus
