  SPRING CLEANUP

The City of Three Rivers will not be conducting a spring clean up this year. The funds for that were expended last year for the fall pick up and the summer storm clean up. It is against City Ordinance to place yard waste or debris in the street or the terrace area between the street and the sidewalk. Residents must make their own arrangements to dispose of yard waste, limbs and brush. The City’s compost area at 1015 South Lincoln Avenue will be open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM weekdays, Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Thank you for your cooperation.

  RECYCLING NOTICE

In 2007, the City of Three Rivers accepted a one-year grant from St. Joseph County for curbside recycling.  The City chose not to continue the program in 2008 because it would be an additional tax levy on residents.  Residents who wish to recycle may utilize Westside Landfill's drop off location on Saturday mornings or hire a private firm to pick up the recyclables.  We currently know that Michiana Recycling and Disposal offers weekly curside recycling for trash customers for $1 per month.  Michiana's phone number is 800-722-9710.

We would like to thank Republic Waste Services for the great job that they did with curbside recycling.  It is important that we return the recycle bins to them.  Citizens can drop them off at City Hall or at the DPS facility at 1015 South Lincoln Avenue during business hours.  Another option is to leave your empty bin at the curbside on Friday, February 22nd, and Republic will be around to pick it up.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter!
