Petting Zoo Personality: Nod the Sugar Glider

0

The Sugar Glider is a nocturnal marsupial from Australia.  They glide through the air like a flying squirrel (but are not related to squirrels). Females have a pouch in which they raise their young. In the wild many do not survive their first year, but in captivity they can live 15 years. Wild Sugar Gliders eat insects, small vertebrates, and the sap of eucalyptus, acacia and gum trees. Our Winkin,’ Blinkin’ and Nod eat a species specific food, supplemented by crickets and fruits.
