EMERGENCY STANDBY POWER & FERRIC CHLORIDE TANK ENCLOSURE PROJECT, CONTRACT 13

Sealed Bids for Emergency Standby Power & Ferric Chloride Tank Enclosure Project, Contract 13, will be received by City of Three Rivers, Michigan; City Hall, 333 West Michigan Avenue, Three Rivers, MI 49093, (269) 273-1075, during the normal business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, until 1:00pm, local time, on January 24, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

In general, the work consists of installation of a new diesel-fueled standby emergency generator and transfer switch.  Additionally, a new electrical switchgear building will be constructed, and new electrical switchgear will be installed. All existing power circuits will be connected to the proposed building/gear and the existing secondary electrical service will be eliminated.

Alternate #1 work will include, in general, installation of a masonry enclosure of the existing ferric chloride storage tank. Enclosure will be masonry walls and membrane roof over precast concrete roof planks. Electrical and HVAC modifications.

Alternate #2 work will include the removal of cross-the-line motors starters and replacement with variable frequency drives for the ATAD Foam Pump and Waste Sludge Pump.

Copies of Bidding Documents and Contract Documents may be obtained from KalBlue, Inc at 914 E Vine St, Kalamazoo, MI 49001, (269) 349-8681. A non-refundable fee of $90.00 will be required for each set of Bidding Documents and Contract Documents provided by KalBlue. Checks shall be made payable to KalBlue.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00am local time at the City of Three Rivers WWTP, at 409 Wolf Road, Three Rivers, MI 49093, (269) 273-5885.

Neither Owner nor Engineer has any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or sufficiency of any bid documents obtained from any source other than the source indicated in these documents. Obtaining these documents from any other source(s) may result in obtaining incomplete and inaccurate information. Obtaining these documents from any source other than directly from the source listed herein may also result in failure to receive any addenda, corrections, or other revisions to these documents that may be issued.

Bids must be submitted on the forms bound herein, must contain the names of every person or company interested therein, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the amount bid with satisfactory corporate surety, subject to conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance Bond and Maintenance and guarantee Bond in the amount of 100% of the Bid, and Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 50% of the Bid.

Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids, but no bidder shall withdraw his Bid within 30 days after the actual opening thereof.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive irregularities in any Bid, and to accept any Bid which is deemed most favorable to the Owner.
