NOTICE OF LAST DAY OF REGISTRATION

FOR THE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2016

You are hereby notified that the last day to register to vote or change your address for the November 8, 2016 General Election will be Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Persons registering after the deadline will not be eligible to vote at the election.

Electors who wish to vote in the election must be registered no later than October 11, 2016.  To register, visit any Secretary of State Branch office, the County Clerk’s office, Three Rivers City Hall M-F 8-4:30, or your local clerk’s office.  Voter registration forms may also be obtained at specified agencies for clients receiving services through the Department of Human Services, the Department of Community Health, the Michigan Jobs Commission, some offices of the Commission for the Blind, or at military recruitment offices for person enlisting in the armed forces.

PERSONS ENTITLED to be registered voters must possess the following qualifications on or before the day of the election: (1) a citizen of the United States; (2) not less than 18 years of age; (3) a resident of the State of Michigan and local jurisdiction for not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.492).  In addition, qualified electors must be registered to vote not less than 30 days prior to the election (MCL 168.497).

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that candidates of the following partisan offices are to be voted for in St. Joseph County: Electors of President and Vice President of the United States, US Senator, US Representative in Congress, Representative in State Legislature, State Board of Education, University of Michigan Board of Regents, Michigan State University Board of Trustees, Wayne State University Board of Governor, County Commissioners, Township Offices, and such other partisan offices that may by law be required to be elected.  Candidates seeking election to the following nonpartisan offices are also to be voted for at the November 6, 2016 General Election: Justice of the Supreme Court, Judge of Court of Appeals, and such other nonpartisan offices that may by law be required to be filled at this election including City Commission positions

CITY OF THREE RIVERS PROPOSAL

AMENDMENT TO THE CITY CHARTER AUTHORIZING THE CONTINUATION OF AN ANNUAL TAX LEVY NOT TO EXCEED .37 OF A MILL ($0.37 PER $1000 OF TAXABLE VALUATION) FOR A PERIOD OF FIFTEEN (15) YEARS FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF STREET AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS

CONSTANTINE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

CONSTANTINE PUBLIC SCHOOLS GENERAL OBLICATION UNLIMITED TAX BOND PROPOSAL FOR REMODELING AND SITE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AMOUNT

NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,665,000) AND ISSUE ITS GENERAL OBLIGATION UNLIMTED TAX BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REMODELING AND IMPROVEMENTS

FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP PROPOSAL

INCREASE ON GENERAL AD VALOREM TAXES BY 1 MILLS ($1 PER $1000 OF TAXABLE VALUE) FOR A PERIOD OF EIGHT (8) YEARS FOR THE SOLE PURPPOSE OF FINANCING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW TOWNSHIP HALL
